Sustainable World
This utopia describes a world in which the resources are protected. All usage of energy, people, and material needs to be in a sustainable way. No living on future generations, exploitation of people or depletion of resources. One important resource, energy, will only be taken from renewable sources such as wind, sun and water power.
This utopia mainly focuses on technical subjects, but needs to have a rational government that ensures the rational use of resources. The government needs to have the power to set sustainability above the direct economical interests of the few who may have an advantage at the moment if they waste or exhaust resources. Such a government can only exist if it has the support of the people. This implies a democracy and well-educated people who elect the right people as their representatives. It is also a people democracy, where the laws will be decided by the people directly, because people cannot be corrupted as easy as a leading group of representatives.
Technical developments are tested for their environmental compatibility. An industrial economy is possible and necessary to allow the sustainable usage of resources, i.e., keep the resources in closed loops. Science and research is mainly carried out to understand the underlying interrelationships between matter, life and human ambitions, the rules for communities, and to improve the understanding of the circulation of resources.
