The Cave World is the direct continuation of the actual development of mankind. By the forth of the human brain, the human itself become more and more independent from nature, which started by wearing clothes, building houses with fireplaces, growing plants and animals. The technical development allows the humans to live at places where no other, or very specialized creature can live, due to their flexibility to modify the environment. The dependency on weather, soil quality and other environmental conditions are diminished by technical developments. The next step of getting independent is to live in an completely artificial environment, a cave system. The light, air and energy are completely controlled by the human itself. Energy will be produced by nuclear power plants, food will be grown in big water tanks using algae and other easy to grow plants, the air will be cleaned and controlled because the outside world is contaminated by nuclear and chemical waste, and therefore not liveable any more.

The individual human will mainly "live" in virtual worlds, generated by computers, presented by human-machine interfaces. In this virtual worlds most social contacts are done, holidays and leisure time will be spend. Work needs to be done in the real world and here several degrees of contaminated working places are available, because no filter works 100 % and the older parts of the cave system become more and more contaminated so that the newer parts have the highest degree of clean air. In these areas only the rich and powerful people are living. There will even be a need to work in the outside world for getting commodities. This kind of work will be either height paid or delegated to the poorest people which live in the areas close to the outer world.
